American Psycho cast confirmed

The full cast of AMERICAN PSYCHO – THE MUSICAL has been confirmed and producers BB-Arts Entertainment & Two Doors Productions in association with Hayes Theatre Co are ready to unleash them on the world.

Playing at the Hayes Theatre Co from 10 May 2019, the Australian Premiere of AMERICAN PSYCHO – THE MUSICAL is based on the thriller novel by Bret Easton Ellis of the same name, which also inspired the 2000 film starring Christian Bale.

Joining previously announced Ben Gerrard as Patrick Bateman (ABC’s Outland, I Am My Own Wife) is Shannon Dooley in the role of Bateman’s girlfriend Evelyn WIlliams.

Sheridan Harbridge (Calamity Jane, Muriel’s Wedding) returns to the Hayes Theatre Co stage as Courtney Lawrence, Evelyn’s best friend, Blake Appelqvist (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Kinky Boots) will play Patrick’s antagonist Paul Owen and Loren Hunter (Evie May, Rent) will play the role of Jean, Patrick’s secretary. Amy Hack (Cry-Baby) will play the role of Sabrina while Hayes Theatre Co newcomers Daniel Raso (Jersey Boys, Matilda), Julian Kuo (West Side Story, Spring Awakening) Liam Nunan (Orphans, Miracle City) and Kristina McNamara (West Side Story, The Faust)  play the roles of David Van Patten, Craig McDermott, Luis Carruthers and Christine, respectively.

AMERICAN PSYCHO – THE MUSICAL boasts an impressive Australian creative team comprising the 2018 Sydney Theatre Award Winner for Best Director of a Musical, Alexander Berlage(Cry Baby), Musical Director Andrew Worboys (Sweet Charity, Assassins) recipient of multiple Sydney Theatre Awards for Best Set Design Isabel Hudson (Cry-Baby), Costume Designer Mason Browne (Cry-Baby),and Sound Designer Nicholas Walker (Assassins, Blood Brothers).

With a book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale) and music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) and featuring classic 80s hits from Phil Collins, Tears for Fears, New Order and Huey Lewis and the News, AMERICAN PSYCHO – THE MUSICAL is a pitch black comedy about what it means to be alive in the world we live in.
