2019 – A Year in Review

And with that, another year is done!

Before we say goodbye to 2019, we wanted to look over some of the amazing stuff that happened this year. This is just a snapshot at some of what we’ve covered in the last 365 days.

It’s been a crazy one for Aussietheatre.com, and we’ve loved every moment of it!

We’ve seen some amazing changes for the industry, including a 24/7 Wellbeing Helpline provided by Arts Centre Melbourne for those working in the Arts industry, and the launch of Takeyourseats.com, our affiliate site that aims to bring audiences closer to the performances they love whilst still assisting productions throughout the ticket cycle.

Hayes Theatre Co. announced their stellar 2020 season, as did The Malthouse Theatre, Sydney Festival, Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), and Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Melbourne’s iconic Regent Theatre will be reopening its doors for the premiere of War Horse in January 2020, after completing a refurbishment for the better part of this year.

We said goodbye to Aussietheatre.com directors Erin James and Matt Edwards, but welcomed new directors Peter J. Snee and Sean McLoughlin to the team.

We’ve had announcements for Australian productions for shows including Shrek The Musical, Magic Mike Live, FrozenPreludes, Bat Out Of Hell, The Secret Garden, Fiddler On The Roof, Six The Musical, 9 to 5, Hamilton and Moulin Rouge. It’s safe to say the next few years are going to be huge for Australian Theatre.
