Wicked Announces Cast Changes for 2024 at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre

The Apollo Victoria Theatre presenting Wicked, The Musical, winner of over 100 major awards

The West End and Broadway musical ‘Wicked’ is set for a major cast revamp at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London, commencing on 12 March 2024.

Adapted from Gregory Maguire’s novel, ‘Wicked’ provides a fresh take on the classic characters from L. Frank Baum’s ‘The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.’ The production has captivated nearly 12 million viewers in London, and as of 22 September 2023, it outstripped the 6512-performance run of ‘Stomp,’ ranking as the 11th longest-running show in the history of the West End.

In a reshuffle, the production will welcome new members including Michael Fenton Stevens as the Wizard, Graham Kent as Doctor Dillamond, and Laura Harrison returning as the standby for Elphaba.

Bidding farewell to the show are Mark Curry (the Wizard), Steven Pinder (Doctor Dillamond), Amy Webb (standby for Elphaba), and several ensemble members: Yuki Abe, Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Fergus Dale, Nicola Espallardo, Danny Fogarty, Ross Harmon, Harry Mills, Daniel Parrott, Christine Tucker, and Jaydon Vijn.

The ensemble will continue to feature Alexia Khadime as Elphaba, with Lucy St. Louis as Glinda, Ryan Reid as Fiyero, Sophie-Louise Dann as Madame Morrible, Caitlin Anderson as Nessarose, Joe Thompson-Oubari as Boq, and Lisa-Anne Wood as the standby for Glinda.

New ensemble members include Conor Ashman, Jessica Aubrey, Jeremy Batt, Felipe Bejarano, Asmara Cammock, Joshua Clemetson, Effie Rae Dyson, Aimee Hodnett, Kate Leiper, Jemima Loddy, Joshua Lovell, Rory Maguire, Paddy Joe Martin, Darnell Mathew-James, Millie Mayhew, Ayden Morgan, Rishard-Kyro Nelson, Aston Neman Hannington, Aiesha Naomi Pease, Jeanie Ryan, Natalie Spriggs, Charlotte Anne Steen, James Titchener, Micaela Todd, Taela Yeomans-Brown, and Jacob Young.

‘Wicked’ boasts over 100 international awards. The musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. Wayne Cilento is responsible for musical staging, under the direction of Joe Mantello.

As the London production continues its successful run, ‘Wicked’ is preparing for its third UK and Ireland tour, starting at the Edinburgh Playhouse on December 7, 2023, and concluding at the Manchester Palace Theatre.
