From 26th September, Vincent Jamal Hooper will take the lead as Simba in the West End’s critically acclaimed musical, ‘The Lion King’, at the Minskoff Theatre. He will be succeeding Brandon A. McCall, who will give his final bow on 24th September.
For Hooper, this marks a notable debut on the West End stage. His past credits include various roles across different productions of ‘Hamilton’, portraying Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, and several other significant characters. He was also recently seen in the off-West End show ‘White Girl in Danger’ at the Second Stage.
Joining Hooper in ‘The Lion King’ are Stephen Carlile as Scar, L. Steven Taylor portraying Mufasa, Tshidi Manye as Rafiki, Nick LaMedica as Zazu, and others including Ben Jeffrey, Fred Berman, Pearl Khwezi, James Brown-Orleans, Bonita J. Hamilton, and Robb Sapp. The ensemble was cast by ARC.
Last November, ‘The Lion King’ celebrated a remarkable milestone, marking its 25th year on the West End stage.
