Tom Felton’s Broadway engagement as Draco Malfoy reportedly extended to January 2027

People reported on 11 August 2026 that Tom Felton will give his final scheduled performance as Draco Malfoy in Broadway’s HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD on 3 January 2027. His engagement at New York’s Lyric Theatre had previously been due to end on 1 November 2026.

The revised date adds approximately two months to Felton’s Broadway engagement. It is a further extension of his scheduled run in the role, not a closing announcement for the production. The 3 January date applies only to his participation.

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD will continue at the Lyric Theatre after Felton’s scheduled departure. The production’s official FAQ currently lists tickets on sale through 9 May 2027. That ticketing horizon is separate from his reported final performance and does not establish his participation beyond 3 January.

Felton began performances at the Lyric Theatre on 11 November 2025. The engagement marked his Broadway debut and his first return to the role of Draco Malfoy since the Harry Potter film series. With the further extension, his scheduled Broadway tenure now covers parts of 2025, 2026 and 2027.

Felton is also the first performer from the original Harry Potter film cast to reprise a film role in a stage production of HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD. He returned as Draco Malfoy, the character he played in the films.

People also lists planned absences for Felton from 17 to 23 August, 14 to 20 September and 12 to 18 October 2026. The publication separately lists him as absent for the 2 November 2026 performance.

Those absences are distinct from the reported endpoint. The extended engagement does not mean Felton is scheduled to appear at every performance before 3 January.

AussieTheatre previously covered Felton’s casting and return as Draco Malfoy on Broadway, but the January 2027 endpoint was not part of that report. This update concerns the further extension from November into January, while the production remains scheduled beyond his engagement.
