The Prince of Egypt set for UK cinema debut next month

Next month promises the cinematic unveiling of the epic journey, ‘The Prince of Egypt’. With iconic numbers such as “When You Believe” and “Through Heaven’s Eyes”, the story delves into the destiny of two brothers separated at birth, only to be reunited by fate. The theatrical adaptation, inspired by the timeless animation, made its first appearance in 2020. However, global events led to a brief hiatus, with its resumption in 2021 post-lockdown.

Under the direction of Brett Sullivan and production by Dione Orrom, the adaptation promises a compelling retelling.

Star performances include Luke Brady as Moses, Liam Tamne portraying Ramses, Christine Allado as Tzipporah, among others.

The cinematic version will have screenings across various UK venues starting 19 October, with bookings already open at Picturehouse outlets. Moreover, it has received a PG rating from the BBFC.

Crafted by the talented duo, Stephen Schwartz and Philip LaZebnik, this take on Moses’ tale features Scott Schwartz as the director. Key contributors include choreography by Sean Cheesman, set aesthetics by Kevin Depinet, costumes by Ann Hould-Ward, and an array of other talented individuals.

The West End ensemble also featured a rich list of actors, including Simbi Akande, Casey Al-Shaqsy, Jordan Anderton, and many more, accompanied by young talents like Chenai Broadbent, Cian Eagle-Service, and others.

It is yet to be announced whether or not this cinematic release will make it to Australian shores.
