The Devil Wears Prada Extends West End Run After Record-Breaking Success

The Devil Wears Prada musical has officially extended its West End run after its spectacular opening at the Dominion Theatre, making history as the fastest-selling show in the venue’s history. Following rave reviews and a star-studded gala night, the musical is set to captivate audiences for an extended period, now playing through 18 October 2025.

Based on the beloved 2003 film and the bestselling novel by Lauren Weisberger, the musical adaptation features a dazzling score by Elton John and Shaina Taub (known for Suffs), a book by Kate Wetherhead (Burlesque the Musical), and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots). The show had its UK premiere earlier this year in Plymouth before transferring to London’s West End.

The Devil Wears Prada tells the story of Andy Sachs, a young woman who lands a coveted job at Runway, a high-profile fashion magazine led by the fearsome Miranda Priestly. As Andy sacrifices her personal life in pursuit of success, she grapples with the question of whether it’s worth the cost. The show explores themes of ambition, identity, and the ruthless world of fashion, all set to an unforgettable soundtrack.

The production, which kicked off its West End run with a glitzy gala night in early December, raised an impressive £750,000 for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The event was a major highlight in the show’s launch, drawing widespread attention and support for the charity.

The current cast features the incredible Vanessa Williams as the formidable Miranda Priestly, with Matt Henry portraying Nigel. Georgie Buckland stars as Andy, and Amy Di Bartolomeo plays Emily. James Darch (from Mamma Mia!) takes on the role of journalist Christian, while Rhys Whitfield portrays Andy’s long-term boyfriend, Nate. Debbie Kurup serves as the standby for Miranda Priestly.

The show’s success has led to its extension through to 18 October 2025, and the production is already becoming one of the most talked-about musicals in London. In addition to the rave reviews, the show’s set design by Tim Hatley (Back to the Future), costume design by Gregg Barnes (Legally Blonde), and lighting design by Bruno Poet (Tina – The Tina Turner Musical) have also earned praise for their dazzling visuals and attention to detail.
