STEREOPHONIC Announces West End Run
Stereophonic, the electrifying 2024 Tony-winning Best Play, is turning up the volume one last time on Broadway—but the journey is far from over: the band is going on tour!
After an incredible Broadway run, which will conclude on January 12 at the Golden Theatre following 305 performances and two extended engagements, the show is gearing up for its next big act. In May 2025, Stereophonic will bring its rock-and-roll energy to London’s Duke of York’s Theatre for a highly anticipated West End debut, before embarking on a nationwide U.S. tour this October.
The sensational Broadway cast—featuring Benjamin Anthony Anderson, Tony Award winner Will Brill, Andrew Butler, Amy Forsyth, Eli Gelb, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and Chris Stack—has dazzled audiences. Longtime cast members Brill, Butler, Gelb, and Stack have been with the production since its Playwrights Horizons premiere, and fans will be thrilled to know that Butler, Gelb, and Stack are heading to London to reprise their roles. Additional casting for the West End engagement will be announced soon, promising even more excitement to come.
Written by David Adjmi, Stereophonic follows an unnamed ’70s rock band recording their sophomore album. It features original music by Will Butler, formerly of the band Arcade Fire. Stereophonic made history last year by earning 13 Tony Award nominations—the most of any play, ever. It went on to win five Tonys, including Best Play, Best Director (Daniel Aukin), Best Featured Actor (Will Brill), Best Scenic Design (David Zinn), and Best Sound Design (Ryan Rumery).
The national tour of Stereophonic will officially launch at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA as part of STG’s Broadway at the Paramount 2025-2026 Season. Additional cities, dates, and other details will be announced in the coming months. The tour will be produced by Sue Wagner, John Johnson, Seaview, Sonia Friedman Productions, Linden Productions, and Ashley Melone and Nick Mills.
In addition to all the production news, Concord Theatricals has secured the exclusive worldwide English-language licensing rights for the play. More information on that acquisition can be found on their official website.
