Paranormal Activity Stage Adaptation Extends West End Run

The West End stage adaptation of Paranormal Activity has extended its run following a strong response from audiences and critics.

Producers confirmed that the production will now continue performances at the Ambassadors Theatre until 25 April 2026. The extension follows the show’s opening last month, which came after an initial try out run at Leeds Playhouse.

Adapted from the Paranormal Activity film franchise, the stage production tells an original story written by Levi Holloway and directed by Felix Barrett, founder and artistic director of Punchdrunk. The show is presented by Melting Pot in association with Leeds Playhouse and additional partners.

The production follows James and Lou, a couple who relocate from Chicago to London in an attempt to leave their past behind, only to discover that their new home is haunted by unsettling forces. The piece blends psychological tension with supernatural elements, using immersive theatrical techniques designed to bring audiences uncomfortably close to the action.

The West End cast includes Patrick Heusinger as James and Melissa James as Lou, alongside Pippa Winslow as Carolanne and Jackie Morrison as Etheline Cotgrave. Understudies Cheyenne Dasri and Jake Solari cover the roles of Lou and James respectively.

The show has been praised for its inventive staging and atmosphere, with critics highlighting its ability to translate cinematic horror into a live theatrical experience. WhatsOnStage described the production as entertaining and frightening, noting its impact within the growing genre of horror theatre.

Barrett’s previous directing credits include immersive productions such as Sleep No More, The Burnt City, and The Drowned Man. The creative team for Paranormal Activity features set and costume designer Fly Davis, illusion designer Chris Fisher, lighting designer Anna Watson, sound designer Gareth Fry, video designer Luke Halls, and casting directors Stuart Burt and Ginny Schiller.

The production is presented by arrangement with Paramount Pictures and produced by Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska, alongside Gavin Kalin, Ken Davenport, Patrick Gracey, Jonathan and Rae Corr, and Leeds Playhouse. The show carries an age recommendation of 15 plus.

With its run now extended into spring, Paranormal Activity continues to build momentum as one of the West End’s most talked about new plays of the season.
