Operation Mincemeat Announces Broadway Cast, with Original London Stars Set to Sail Over for Debut

New York, NY – The acclaimed British musical Operation Mincemeat, which has garnered multiple awards and a loyal following across London, is set to make its highly anticipated Broadway debut next spring. The Broadway production will feature the original cast that helped catapult the show to success in the West End, bringing familiar faces across the Atlantic to share this unique World War II story with New York audiences.

Operation Mincemeat dives into a lesser-known wartime operation that relied on deception, espionage, and a stolen corpse to mislead Nazi forces. The musical, which combines historical intrigue with dark comedy, began its journey in London’s New Diorama Theatre in 2019. After receiving five-star reviews and generating a dedicated fan base, it moved to larger venues including Southwark Playhouse, Riverside Studios, and finally the West End’s Fortune Theatre in 2023. The show’s success earned it both WhatsOnStage and Olivier Awards for Best New Musical.

Fans of the original cast will be thrilled to know that David Cumming, Claire-Marie Hall, Natasha Hodgson, Olivier Award-winner Jak Malone, and Zoë Roberts will all reprise their roles for the Broadway production. The show will take up residence at the Golden Theatre, with previews beginning on February 15, 2025, and an official opening night set for March 20. Notably, Operation Mincemeat will be the first musical to grace the Golden Theatre’s stage since Avenue Q.

Behind the scenes, the creative team includes SpitLip, the musical’s creators, consisting of Cumming, Felix Hagan, Hodgson, and Roberts. Direction is by Robert Hastie, with choreography by Jenny Arnold. The visual and auditory experience is crafted by set and costume designer Ben Stones, lighting designer Mark Henderson, sound designer Mike Walker, and musical direction by Joe Bunker. Orchestrations and vocal arrangements are by Steve Sidwell. Additional support comes from associate director Georgie Staight and associate choreographer Paul Isaiah Isles, with casting handled by Pearson.

Broadway tickets are expected to go fast, with general sales opening on November 20 following a fan-exclusive pre-sale on November 18.
