New faces join West End Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as run extends to July 2026

LONDON. The Palace Theatre production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has extended its West End run through 26 July 2026. Producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions have also announced new principal cast members who begin performances on 15 October.

Joshua Sullivan will play Albus Potter, with Kai Spackman as Scorpius Malfoy. Oliver Boot joins as Draco Malfoy, and Tamia-Renée Alexandra steps in as Rose Granger-Weasley. Returning principals include David Ricardo-Pearce and Claire Lams as Harry and Ginny Potter, with Thomas Aldridge and Naana Agyei-Ampadu continuing as Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Set 19 years after the original saga, the play follows Harry, Ron and Hermione as they navigate parenthood while a new generation arrives at Hogwarts. The production promises high impact stagecraft, a race through time, and a showdown with shadowy forces.

The creative team features director John Tiffany, a play by Jack Thorne based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, movement by Steven Hoggett, set design by Christine Jones, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, music and arrangements by Imogen Heap, lighting by Neil Austin, sound by Gareth Fry, and illusions and magic by Jamie Harrison.

London remains the only staging worldwide presented in its original two part format. Now in its ninth year at the Palace Theatre, the show has been seen by two million theatregoers in London and more than 11 million worldwide. It has collected 60 major awards, including nine Laurence Olivier Awards and six Tony Awards, both including best new play.

The global footprint currently includes productions in London, New York, Hamburg and Tokyo, plus a North American tour that is playing Washington D.C. at the Kennedy Center before moving to Atlanta’s Fox Theatre in February 2026.
