MJ THE MUSICAL confirms final West End extension to February 2026

Smash hit bio‑jukebox show MJ THE MUSICAL will moonwalk across the Prince Edward Theatre stage for the last time on 28 February 2026. Producers today announced one final extension, giving fans an extra thirteen months to catch the Olivier Award‑winning production before it permanently lowers the curtain.

Featuring more than twenty‑five chart‑toppers from the King of Pop, the musical has become a fixture on the West End since opening last spring. It picked up WhatsOnStage and Olivier Awards for Best Choreography, with nominations for Best New Musical at both ceremonies.

Jamaal Fields‑Green continues to lead as Michael Jackson, headlining a principal cast that includes Matt Mills, Mitchell Zhangazha, Philippa Stefani, KoKo Alexandra, Joshua C Jackson, Rohan Pinnock‑Hamilton, Matt Gonsalves, Michael Conley, Kieran Alleyne, Johnny Bishop and André Phipps. A thirty‑plus strong ensemble supports them, ensuring the trademark choreography fills every inch of the stage.

The show is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Creative credits include scenic design by Derek McLane, lighting by Natasha Katz, costumes by Paul Tazewell, sound by Gareth Owen, projections by Peter Nigrini and wigs and hair by Charles G. LaPointe. Musical supervision comes from David Holcenberg, with orchestrations and arrangements by Holcenberg and Jason Michael Webb. UK casting is by Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher, with young performers cast by Amy Beadel.

Tickets for the final extension go on sale this week, and producers are encouraging audiences to secure seats early. When the last note fades next February, MJ THE MUSICAL will have moonwalked through nearly four years of London performances, leaving fans and critics alike shouting for one more encore.
