Mean Girls Musical Extends West End Run at Savoy Theatre

London, UK — The smash-hit musical Mean Girls has extended its run at the iconic Savoy Theatre in the West End, delighting fans of the 2004 cult classic film and bringing new energy to Tina Fey’s sharp-witted high school satire. Following its acclaimed debut in Washington in 2017 and a successful transfer to Broadway in 2018, the show arrived in the UK to enthusiastic audiences, securing its place as a West End staple.

Mean Girls, adapted for the stage by Tina Fey with music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin, retains much of the film’s humor and iconic lines while adding catchy, original songs like “Meet the Plastics,” “Apex Predator,” and “Revenge Party.” The stage adaptation is helmed by Tony Award-winning director Casey Nicholaw, known for his work on The Book of Mormon and Aladdin.

The West End cast features rising stars Charlie Burn as protagonist Cady Heron, Georgina Castle as the queen bee Regina George, Elèna Gyasi as Gretchen Wieners, and Grace Mouat as Karen Smith. Rounding out the group are Elena Skye (Les Misérables, Kinky Boots) as Janis and Tom Xander (The Book of Mormon) as Damian, bringing a fresh dynamic to these beloved characters. Daniel Bravo steps in as Aaron Samuels, with Lucca Chadwick-Patel portraying Kevin Ganatra, Ako Mitchell as North Shore High’s principal Mr. Duvall, and Zoë Rainey taking on the roles of Ms. Norbury, Mrs. George, and Ms. Heron.

The extended ensemble cast includes Tia Antoine-Charles, Georgia Arron, Liam Buckland, Shonah Buwu, Baylie Carson, Freddie Clements, Siobhan Diffin, Clíona Flynn, Fergie Fraser, Angus Good, Jenny Huxley-Golden, Holly Liburd, Corey Mitchell, Mervin Noronha, Aharon Rayner, Trézel Sergeant, Josh Singleton, Annie Southall, Lillia Squires, Tommy Wade-Smith, and Holly Willock.

In addition to regular performances, Mean Girls will offer accessible showings, including a captioned performance on Saturday, 15 March at 2:30 pm, and a British Sign Language performance on Saturday, 10 May at 2:30 pm. The production has also announced a partnership with ATG Entertainment’s West End Creative Learning to support UK state schools and educational organizations. Through this initiative, a limited number of £20 tickets will be available for select Friday matinee performances, allowing more young people to experience live theatre.

The program also includes three unique workshops tailored for school and group bookings. These are Mean Girls: Where Do You Belong?, an anti-bullying workshop; Mean Girls: Fearless!, an LGBTQ+ allyship workshop; and Mean Girls: Musical Theatre Workshop, all designed to engage students with the show’s themes and foster learning through theatre.
