London Premiere of Cruel Intentions Musical Announces Final Cast

The final cast has been announced for the much-anticipated London premiere of ‘Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical,’ set to open at The Other Palace. This musical adaptation, inspired by the 1999 cult classic film directed by Roger Kumble and featuring stars such as Sarah Michelle Gellar and Reese Witherspoon, has been crafted by Jordan Ross, Lindsey Rosin, and Kumble.

Drawing from the French novel ‘Les Liaisons Dangereuses,’ the narrative centers on Manhattan high school students Sebastian Valmont and Kathryn Merteuil as they embark on a manipulative game of seduction involving Annette Hargrove, the headmaster’s daughter.

The cast includes Josh Barnett as Blaine Tuttle/Court Reynolds, Daniel Bravo as Sebastian Valmont, Jess Buckby as Mrs. Bunny Caldwell/Dr. Greenbaum, and Abbie Budden in the role of Annette Hargrove. Joining them are Rose Galbraith as Cecile Caldwell/Marci Greenbaum, Nickcolia King-N’Da as Ronald Clifford, Rhianne-Louise McCaulsky as Kathryn Merteuil, and Barney Wilkinson as Greg.

The ensemble is completed by Craig Watson, Nathan Lorainey-Dineen, Charlotte O’Rourke, and Verity Thompson. The musical features an array of ’90s pop hits from icons like Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Boyz II Men, and TLC, among others.

Directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, with choreography and associate direction by Gary Lloyd, the creative team also includes musical director Denise Crowley, set and costume designer Polly Sullivan, lighting designer Nick Richings, sound designer Chris Whybrow, associate choreographer Matt Nicholson, and costume supervisor Hugo Aguirre. Casting is overseen by Will Burton.

Produced by Bill Kenwright Ltd, ‘Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical’ will run from 11 January to 14 April 2024, with a press night scheduled for 19 January. Tickets are currently available for this exciting new production.
