LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS sets 2026 festive season at Liverpool Playhouse after Manchester revival
The cult musical LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS will play a Christmas season at Liverpool Playhouse in 2026 following a revived run at Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre next autumn.
Directed and choreographed by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Carrie Anne Ingrouille, the new staging features set and costume design by Morgan Large, musical supervision and arrangements by Paul Schofield, lighting design by Rory Beaton, sound design by Kelsh Buckman Drage, and casting by Rob Kelly. Further creative team and full casting will be announced in 2026.
Liverpool Playhouse dates run from 3 December 2026 to 9 January 2027, with a press night on 4 December. Tickets are on sale now. The Manchester engagement runs 25 September to 29 November 2026 at Hope Mill Theatre. Together the two engagements mark the longest sit down UK production of the musical since its 2007 West End run.
Creative leaders in Liverpool describe the show as a gloriously offbeat choice for the holidays, following the venue’s recent streak of alternative festive titles. Producer Thomas Hopkins highlights the Manchester and Liverpool sit downs as a major return for the title in the UK, calling the collaboration with Ingrouille and the creative team a dream pairing.
With music by Alan Menken and book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International.
