A decade after becoming a Broadway sensation, the original cast of Hamilton will join forces once again for a special 10th anniversary performance at this year’s Tony Awards. Scheduled for June 8, the reunion brings back Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the show’s book, music, and lyrics, alongside longtime castmates from the initial run, all celebrating the musical’s enduring impact on theater.

Among those confirmed to appear are Jonathan Groff, Ariana DeBose, Carleigh Bettiol, and Daveed Diggs, along with many others from the groundbreaking production’s original ensemble. The performance aims to commemorate Hamilton’s journey since its Broadway debut at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in 2015. The musical—centered on the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton—has become known for its blend of historical narrative and hip-hop, a formula that captivated audiences and critics alike.

Hamilton dominated its first awards season, ultimately earning 11 Tony Awards at a ceremony the year following its premiere, including Best Musical. That success paved the way for other accolades, such as a Grammy win for Best Musical Theater Album, an Olivier Award for its London production, and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Even the original cast recording garnered high-profile recognition by becoming the first Broadway album to be certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America. Nearly a decade later, Hamilton remains a mainstay on Broadway.

This year’s Tony Awards festivities will begin with a pre-show streamed on Pluto TV, co-hosted by Tony nominee Darren Criss and Renée Elise Goldsberry—who also returns for the special Hamilton reunion. The 78th annual ceremony will then air on CBS from 8-11 p.m. ET, with Tony winner Cynthia Erivo serving as host. With the original Hamilton company ready to take the stage, the anniversary celebration promises to be one of the evening’s most anticipated highlights.
