“La La Land” to transform into stage musical with direction by Bartlett Sher

The highly anticipated stage musical adaptation of “La La Land” has generated buzz among fans of the award-winning film. Directed by Bartlett Sher, known for his work on “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “The King and I,” the stage production promises to deliver a memorable experience.

With a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar and Matthew Decker, and a score by Justin Hurwitz with lyrics by Pasek and Paul, the creative team behind “La La Land” is a powerhouse of talent. The film’s original writer and director, Damien Chazelle, is not involved in the stage production, but his impact on the movie will still be felt in the adaptation.

The film, which starred Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as a jazz musician and actress trying to make it in Hollywood, was a critical and commercial success. With six Academy Awards including Best Original Score and Best Original Song, it’s no surprise that a stage musical adaptation is in the works.

Produced by Marc Platt, known for his work on “Wicked,” the stage production of “La La Land” is poised to be a hit on Broadway. Platt has expressed excitement about bringing the movie to the stage, saying, “I’m thrilled to reunite with Lionsgate and the incredible team behind La La Land to adapt the movie for the Broadway stage, the next exciting chapter in its evolution…We’ve assembled a world-class team to create a musical that will delight La La Land’s millions of current fans and introduce the property to a whole new audience.”

The cast for the stage production has not been announced, but fans can expect big things from the talented team behind the production. With its enchanting score, memorable characters, and charming love story, “La La Land” is sure to be a hit on the Broadway stage.
