A-list trio James Corden, Neil Patrick Harris and Bobby Cannavale will share the stage this summer when Yasmina Reza’s award-winning comedy Art receives its first Broadway revival at the Music Box Theatre.

Previews begin 28 August ahead of an official opening on 16 September. The strictly limited 17-week engagement is scheduled to conclude on 21 December 2025, with Tony-nominated director Scott Ellis at the helm.

Reza’s sharp, 90-minute play—translated by Christopher Hampton—centres on three long-time friends who erupt into an escalating debate after one purchases an expensive, completely white painting, forcing a comic examination of taste, ego and loyalty.

The original 1998 Broadway run starred Alan Alda, Victor Garber and Alfred Molina, earning Molina the Tony Award for Best Actor and securing the play’s place in modern theatre repertoires.

For Corden, Art marks a Broadway home-coming after his Tony-winning turn in One Man, Two Guvnors (2012). He has previously appeared on stage in The History Boys and most recently in the West End’s The Constituent (2024), alongside notable screen roles in musical films such as Into the Woods and The Prom.

Harris returns to Broadway for the first time since his acclaimed 2014 performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, while Cannavale’s theatre résumé includes The Lifespan of a Fact, The Motherf**ker with the Hat and Mauritius.

The revival is being produced by Michael Shulman’s Sand & Snow Entertainment, ATG Productions and Gavin Kalin Productions. The producers describe the new mounting as an opportunity to reintroduce Reza’s exploration of friendship, compromise and the transformative power of art to a contemporary audience.
