Full Cast Announced for World Stage Premiere of The Silence of the Lambs

The full cast has been announced for the world stage premiere of The Silence of the Lambs, which will open at Curve, Leicester this August before embarking on a major UK and Ireland tour.

Adapted by Gina Gionfriddo from Thomas Harris’s bestselling novel, the new stage version will be directed by Nikolai Foster. The thriller follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling, who is sent to interview brilliant psychiatrist and convicted murderer Hannibal Lecter in the hope that his insight can help track down the serial killer known as Buffalo Bill.

As previously announced, John Partridge will lead the production as Hannibal Lecter. He will be joined by Mollie Gallagher, making her professional theatre debut as Clarice Starling, with Oliver Farnworth as Jack Crawford and Sam Jackson as Buffalo Bill.

The cast also includes Minal Patel as Frederick Chilton, Jo Mousley as Senator Ruth Martin, Lottie Amor as Catherine Martin, Mark Peachey as Pilcher, Andrew Joshi as Peterson and Jonny Magnanti as Wertimer. Mary Timbrell Hillcompletes the company, with ensemble members taking on a variety of roles throughout the production.

First published in 1988, The Silence of the Lambs remains one of the defining thrillers of the late twentieth century. Harris’s Hannibal Lecter novels have sold more than 50 million copies worldwide and have inspired multiple screen adaptations, including the acclaimed 1991 film starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster.

The stage premiere will run at Curve, Leicester from 1 to 15 August 2026, before touring to cities including Newcastle, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Milton Keynes, Salford, Bradford, Oxford, Peterborough, Hull, Belfast, Dublin, Birmingham, Blackpool, Eastbourne, Malvern, Swansea, Chester, Brighton, Tunbridge Wells, York, Coventry, Richmond, Cheltenham, Bournemouth, Wolverhampton, Cardiff, Buxton, Woking, Liverpool and Sunderland, with further dates continuing through 2027.

The creative team includes designer Michael Taylor, sound designer Carolyn Downing, projection designer George Reeve, composer Grant Olding, lighting designer Howard Hudson and casting director Harry Blumenau. Julia Thomas is associate director.

The Silence of the Lambs is produced by Indigo Productions and Crossroads Live in association with Curve.
