Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors: UK Premiere Announced

The Menier Chocolate Factory is set to host the UK premiere of Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors, a fresh and humorous adaptation of Bram Stoker’s iconic horror novel. Written by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen, this 90-minute production promises a fast-paced, genre-bending experience filled with laughs and unexpected twists.

Directed by Gordon Greenberg, known for his previous Menier productions such as The Baker’s Wife and Barnum, the play will open on 17 March 2025, with previews beginning on 8 March. The run will continue until 3 May 2025.

Set in Transylvania, the story follows Jonathan Harker, a timid English estate agent who journeys to meet his eccentric new client, Count Dracula. However, the Count turns out to be more than just a mysterious recluse—he’s a narcissistic vampire grappling with an existential crisis. With a witty script and sharp humor, the production reimagines the gothic tale for modern audiences.

A unique aspect of this production is its cast of five performers, who will seamlessly switch between multiple roles, showcasing their versatility and comedic talent.
