The Dolly Parton-inspired musical ‘Here You Come Again’ has announced its complete cast and creative team ahead of its UK premiere at Leeds Playhouse this summer. The show, which weaves the story of a dedicated fan finding solace in his idol Dolly Parton’s music during tough times, features classic hits like ‘Jolene,’ ‘9 to 5,’ and ‘I Will Always Love You.’
The musical was originally penned by Emmy-winning writer and songwriter Bruce Vilanch and has been adapted for British audiences by Jonathan Harvey, known for his work on ‘Gimme, Gimme, Gimme’ and ‘Coronation Street.’ Gabriel Barre directs the production, which includes Tricia Paoluccio starring as Dolly Parton. Steven Webb will portray the ardent fan, Kevin. New cast members announced include Aidan Cutler and Charlotte Elisabeth Yorke, who will serve as backing vocalists and understudies.
The extensive creative team boasts talents such as set and costume designer Paul Wills, choreographer Lizzie Gee, and sound designer Tom Marshall, among others. Richard John will oversee musical supervision, with Jordan Li-Smith as the musical director.
‘Here You Come Again’ is set to run from May 11 to June 8, 2024, at Leeds Playhouse, followed by a national tour covering cities from Leicester to Blackpool. Newly added stops include Cambridge, Malvern, and Edinburgh. This production, a collaboration with Simon Friend Entertainment, promises to deliver an engaging blend of music, emotion, and theatricality, celebrating the legacy of Dolly Parton.
