Divorced, Beheaded, Live! SIX returns to Broadway

The wait is over! Following the trials and tribulations of the Covid-19 pandemic, fans of musical theatre are in for a treat this September. Sassy, vivacious, deliciously contemporary and pushing the boundaries of re-imagination, ‘Six’, the musical following the stories of the infamous six queens of Henry the Eight, is returning to Broadway!

The work of creators and co-directors Tony Marlow and Lucy Moss, and produced by Kenny Wax, Kevin McCollum, George Stiles and Wendy and Andy Barnes, ‘Six’ will grace Broadway on the 17thof September at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Even better, the play’s original cast will be leading the audience into this rewriting of history and the electrifying beats of pop.

Adrianna Hicks will star as Catherine of Aragon, Andrea Macasaet as Anne Boleyn, Abby Mueller as Jane Seymour, Brittney Mack as Anne of Cleves and Samantha Pauly as Katherine Howard. Anna Uzele as Catherine Parr completes the cast.

Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert, Courtney Mack, Mallory Maedke and Keirsten Hodgens will be included in the cast as well.

Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss stated that, “It feels so unreal to be writing this, but we are both unbelievably excited Broadway is returning and that Six will finally open on Broadway! And this is not just because we can’t wait to be reunited with our Broadway family, but also because Six opening means that the theater industry is on the road to returning! Soon the theater community will be able to come together after a year of unimaginable challenges—and this is what fills us with just absurd and ridiculous amounts of happiness.”

Kevin McCollum followed up with a statement saying that, “We look forward to welcoming our incredible fans and new audiences safely back into the theater. To say it’s been a long time coming would be an understatement and we are profoundly grateful to begin…anew.”

As theatres and musical performances begin to open everywhere, and as the theatre district begins to return to its booming glory, the opening of ‘Six’ is certain to start September with a much-longed for bang.
