Disney’s ‘Hercules’ Makes Its West End Debut at Theatre Royal Drury Lane

Disney’s Hercules, adapted from the much-loved 1997 animated classic, is set to premiere at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane, marking the iconic hero’s first West End appearance. The stage production will start previews on June 6, 2025, with an official opening night scheduled for June 24, 2025, and tickets are available through January 10, 2026.

The musical brings together a powerhouse creative team: with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by David Zippel, the production features a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah. The musical is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, known for his work on hit shows like The Book of Mormon and Aladdin, with additional choreography by Tanisha Scott. While keeping signature songs from the animated film such as ‘Go The Distance,’ ‘Zero to Hero,’ and ‘I Won’t Say (I’m In Love),’ the stage version adds new numbers to enhance the storyline and expand character depth.

The production is set to dazzle visually, with intricate set and video design by Dane Laffrey, costumes by Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser, lighting by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by Adam Fisher. The team also includes video designer George Reeve, hair and makeup designers Mia M Neal and Kirk Cambridge-Del Pesche, and special effects by Jeremy Chernick, promising a truly immersive experience for theatergoers.

For its first booking period, Hercules has scheduled several accessible performances, including a captioned show on September 15, a signed performance on September 23, a relaxed performance on November 15, and an audio-described performance on November 29. This wide accessibility reflects the production’s commitment to creating an inclusive experience for all audiences.
