Cynthia Erivo Brings Broadway to its Feet with Show-Stopping Tony Awards Opening

Broadway’s brightest stars rose to their feet as Cynthia Erivo opened the 78th Annual Tony Awards at New York City’s iconic Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 8. The performance was a heartfelt tribute to the evening’s standout nominees, including Audra McDonald (Gypsy), George Clooney (Good Night, and Good Luck), Sarah Snook (The Picture of Dorian Gray), and Cole Escola (Oh, Mary!).
