Country Star Orville Peck, Eva Noblezada Take Over Lead Roles in Cabaret on Broadway

Country music sensation Orville Peck will make his highly anticipated Broadway debut this spring in the revival of Cabaret, stepping into the iconic role of the Emcee. Peck, whose run begins March 31, will be joined by Tony Award nominee Eva Noblezada as Sally Bowles. The pair is set to lead the musical for a 16-week engagement at Broadway’s Kit Kat Club.
Peck, known for his signature fringed mask and critically acclaimed albums Pony, Bronco, and Stampede, follows Adam Lambert, who will take his final bow in the role on March 29 alongside Auliʻi Cravalho as Sally. Lambert and Cravalho took over earlier in the production from Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin, who originated the roles when Cabaretopened on Broadway in April.
Though widely recognized for his country-inflected sound and collaborations with artists such as Willie Nelson, Elton John, Shania Twain, Kylie Minogue, and Beck, Peck also comes with a strong theater background. He trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, later performing in an Olivier Award-nominated play in London’s West End.
“I truly cannot believe I’m getting to make my Broadway debut in one of my favorite shows and in probably my favorite role in all of musical theater,” Peck said. “I grew up in the theater. I was a working actor and a dancer for many years before I started making music. I did the hustle, and the struggle, for a long time, trying to make things happen for myself. But it taught me so much of who I am as a performer and a person, so it feels very full circle to be making a return to it at this point in my career.”
Noblezada, meanwhile, has had a busy season on Broadway. The Tony-nominated star of Hadestown and Miss Saigon is currently finishing up her role as Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby on Broadway, slated to close January 30. She will then join the West End production of Hadestown for a limited run before heading back to New York for Cabaret.
“While studying musical theater in school, Cabaret always stood out,” Noblezada said. “I was, and am, amazed by the lineage of theater royalty who have been in the show. And Sally Bowles to me is simply… fascinating.”
Directed by Rebecca Frecknall, Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club also features Bebe Neuwirth as Fraulein Schneider, Calvin Leon Smith as Clifford Bradshaw, Steven Skybell as Herr Schultz, Henry Gottfried as Ernst Ludwig, and Michelle Aravena as Fritzie/Kost. The production continues its critically acclaimed run, with Peck and Noblezada set to bring their own distinctive energy and star power to this beloved musical theater classic.
