Buddy Holly Hall Unveils 2026–27 Broadway Season Featuring Waitress, A Beautiful Noise, The Bodyguard and Kinky Boots

Broadway at Buddy Holly Hall has unveiled its 2026 to 2027 season in Lubbock, with the American Theatre Guild bringing four direct-from-Broadway touring titles to West Texas, including Waitress, A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, The Bodyguard and Kinky Boots. The newly announced line-up marks the sixth anniversary season for the Broadway series at the venue.

The season will begin with Waitress, which is scheduled to play from 20 to 22 November 2026. The musical, featuring music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles and a book by Jessie Nelson, follows pie-maker Jenna as she navigates a difficult marriage and dares to imagine a different future. It will be followed by A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musicalfrom 18 to 20 December 2026, bringing the singer-songwriter’s life story and catalogue of hits to Lubbock in what presenters are billing as one of the season’s marquee attractions.

In early 2027, audiences will next see The Bodyguard, playing 29 to 31 January. Based on the 1992 film, the musical combines romance and suspense with songs associated with Whitney Houston, centring on the relationship between superstar Rachel Marron and the bodyguard hired to protect her. The season will then close with Kinky Boots, running from 7 to 9 May 2027. The Tony-winning musical, with a score by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein, tells the story of an unlikely partnership that transforms both a struggling shoe factory and the people at its centre.

The American Theatre Guild’s Lubbock page now lists all four productions as upcoming season titles, confirming their dates and placement as the next Broadway package at Buddy Holly Hall after the current 2025 to 2026 line-up. Buddy Holly Hall’s own Broadway page is also promoting the season and membership options for audiences wanting to secure tickets in advance.

The inclusion of A Beautiful Noise is likely to be one of the biggest talking points of the season, given the continued popularity of jukebox biographical musicals and Neil Diamond’s enduring appeal. Alongside that, the season appears carefully balanced to attract a broad audience, pairing contemporary favourites like Waitress with crowd-pleasing commercial titles such as The Bodyguard and Kinky Boots. That blend suggests a package designed to offer both recognisable brands and varied musical styles for West Texas theatregoers. This programming mix is an inference based on the announced titles and official season listings.

Season memberships are available through the Broadway at Buddy Holly Hall website and the Buddy Holly Hall box office in downtown Lubbock.
