The musical, adapted from Robert Zemeckis’s 1985 blockbuster, first opened in London on 13 September 2021. Its new casting coincides with the film’s 40th-anniversary celebrations next summer. After a successful Broadway engagement (June 2023 – January 2025) and a North American tour running through August 2025, the West End production continues to anchor the global brand, now booking until 3 January 2026.
Back to the Future the Musical boasts a book by screenwriter Bob Gale and a score blending original numbers from composer Alan Silvestri and lyricist Glen Ballard with iconic songs from the film. Audiences can expect the familiar flux-capacitor thrills as teenager Marty must repair history, and his parents’ romance, after crashing 30 years into the past in Doc Brown’s DeLorean.
With box-office demand showing no sign of slowing, the fresh cast promises to keep Hill Valley’s clock tower chiming well into 2026.
