Aaron Tveit and Singer JoJo to Return to Broadway’s Moulin Rouge!

Tony Award winner Aaron Tveit and singer Joanna ‘JoJo’ Levesque are set to return to Broadway’s hit musical, Moulin Rouge! Tveit, an original cast member, will reprise his acclaimed role as Christian, while JoJo will return as Satine. The pair will take over from Courtney Reed and Derek Klena, whose final performances will be on July 21. Tveit and JoJo’s limited engagement will run from July 23 through October 13 at the Al Hirschfeld Theater.

Tveit, who earned his first Tony Award for his role as Christian, recently played the title character in Sweeney Todd opposite Sutton Foster. His other notable Broadway credits include Catch Me If You Can, Next to Normal, Wicked, and Hairspray.

JoJo first rose to fame at 13 with her debut album, which featured a blend of R&B-inspired pop. As an actress, she starred alongside Robin Williams in the 2006 film RV and made her Broadway debut as Satine in Moulin Rouge! last year.

Joining Tveit and JoJo in the cast are Austin Durant as Harold Zidler, André Ward as Toulouse-Lautrec, David Harris as The Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago, and Sophie Carmen Jones as Nini, with Hailee Kaleem Wright as the Satine Alternate.

Based on the 2001 film directed by Baz Luhrmann, Moulin Rouge! features a kaleidoscopic score that mashes up decades’ worth of pop classics. The musical is directed by Alex Timbers, with a book by John Logan and choreography by Sonya Tayeh.

Fans can look forward to seeing Tveit and JoJo bring their star power back to the vibrant world of Moulin Rouge! for a memorable limited engagement this summer and fall.
