2:22 A GHOST STORY sets Off-Broadway cast for New York premiere

The complete four-person cast has been announced for the New York premiere of 2:22 A GHOST STORY, with Finn Jones set to make his New York stage debut at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Jasmine Cephas Jones, Martin Marquez and Anna Camp join him for the limited Off-Broadway engagement, which begins previews in October and opens in November.

Finn Jones will play Sam, the sceptical husband of Jenny, played by Jasmine Cephas Jones. Camp returns as Lauren, while Marquez takes the role of Ben. Her concern is tied to a disturbance she expects at 2:22 am, so the four agree to remain awake until that time and confront whatever may happen. The gathering turns their disagreement into a shared test as the appointed hour approaches.

That conflict between belief and scepticism gives the play its central dramatic pressure. Jenny is convinced by what she has experienced, while Sam resists her interpretation. Lauren and Ben are drawn into the dispute by agreeing to stay. The deadline embedded in the title keeps all four characters focused on the same moment, allowing the premise to be explained without disclosing the production’s central turn.

Danny Robins wrote 2:22 A GHOST STORY. Matthew Dunster and Gabriel Vega Weissman will direct the New York staging. The writer and directing team are confirmed across the New York production listings and the Equity notice issued before the engagement.

A July 2026 Equity notice published through Playbill listed Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment, together with Isobel David and Kater Gordon, as producers. Wagner Johnson Productions was named in the same notice as executive producer and general manager. The notice provides the available pre-production billing, although the complete opening-night credits were not included in the retrieved announcement materials.

2:22 A GHOST STORY began its production history in the West End in 2021. According to the official production website, it has played seven West End seasons and received approximately 30 productions internationally. The website also identifies the thriller as the winner of the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Play. Its route to the Lucille Lortel Theatre follows that West End and international expansion, with Los Angeles serving as the documented United States premiere before the forthcoming New York season.

The resulting chronology separates three stages in the play’s development: its West End beginning, its first American production at the Ahmanson Theatre and its New York premiere Off-Broadway. Camp provides continuity between the two American companies by returning as Lauren, while Finn Jones reaches a separate career milestone with his first New York stage engagement.

Tickets are on sale through the production’s official ticketing channel. Previews at the Lucille Lortel Theatre are scheduled to begin on 20 October 2026, followed by opening night on 5 November. The limited engagement is currently scheduled to continue until 17 January 2027.
