Playlist: Can’t get enough of Oz Les Mis?

I know, I get it. You just saw Les Miserables in Melbourne and you’re in love with, well, everyone. Don’t worry! You can grab these three albums by the cast members and bask in their talent for… wait for it… you know it’s coming… one day more!

Hayden Tee

1. Hayden Tee – Generation Why? Live ($16.99 on iTunes)

Hayden Tee has a remarkable voice and presence, and after hearing it soar, blockbuster musical style, why wouldn’t you want to hear his take on popular sings, mixing genre and sound? Seriously – “99 Luftballoons” reps an accordion on this album and Michael Jackson gets the Broadway treatment. There’s even a Southern Sons song. You’ll smile. A lot.

2. Trevor Ashley  – Liza (On An E) Live in Sydney ($16.99 on iTunes)

Our Thenardier, Trevor Ashley, is a world-renowned drag and cabaret performer, and his Liza show started small in Sydney but ended up making its way all the way to the West End! This production, captured live in Sydney, is a blistering, hilarious, masterful take on one of the world’s greatest divas. Want to picture Thenardier singing “Losing My Mind”? Your wish is about to come true.

Euan Doidge

3. Euan Doidge – Let It Sing ($16.90 on iTunes)

Marius the heartthrob, or Euan Doidge the heartthrob? It’s a bit of both really, and there’s a reason why Doidge has been a whole bunch of Australia’s latest big musicals, like A Chorus Line, Legally Blonde and Grease, before ending up on the barricades, and it’s this: the guy can seriously sing. He takes on Next to Normal and The Colour Purple, singing a bunch of songs that were originally meant for women. A must have for your collection!
