Philip Glass’ Einstein on the Beach – Photo Feature

The return of Philip Glass’ ground breaking opera Einstein on The Beach to Melbourne is creating quite a buzz about town.

Thanks to Arts Photographer Belinda Strodder AussieTheatre is thrilled to bring you this photo feature with stills from the show, which is currently playing at Arts Centre Melbourne, under the direction of Robert Wilson, Philip Glass and Lucinda Childs.

“This was a very interesting photographic opportunity” Strodder told AussieTheatre. “The scenes unfolded so gradually – it was a unique experience to have the time to sit back and relax a little, to compose the shots with some space and freedom!”

“The dance sequence was particularly interesting. The way they moved with such precision, performing the choreography so spectacularly. The twists, turns and jumps were beautifully executed… the syncronisation was perfect and quite mesmerizing to watch.”

Einstein on the Beach is at Arts Centre Melbourne until Sunday 4 August.
