Kate Fryer is a co-founder of independent acrobatic aerial theatre company Dislocate. Their Melbourne Festival show, If These Walls Could Talk, is another world premiere for the festival. Fusing theatre and circus, it’s a story about life, death and everything in between in an apartment overs five generations of tenants.

The twists.

Laugh, cry… no!
Who shouldn’t miss your show?
Anyone who has a particular liking for physical theatre with a dark sense of humour.
What other Melbourne Festival show will you NOT miss?
We don’t open until the last week end of the festival so to whole thing is going to pass me by with my head still in rehearsal.
What was the first festival you were a part of?
Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival (I grew up in country South Australia).
Apart from the Melbourne Festival, what festival would you love to be a part of?
The Grec, Barcelona.
If you’re a local, where in Melbourne do you always take visitors?
Our local park for a bbq.
What’s one of the great things about being part of a festival?
They publicise your show!
What do you like to do when you have a day to yourself?
Get a massage.

There are no problems only solutions

Work with people you like, admire and trust.

Everything makes me cry.
