Josh Horner is one of Australia’s most versatile performers, with a formidable list of theatre credits spanning three continents including London’s West End (Movin’ Out, Guys and Dolls), Broadway (Billy Elliott), and Australia (Dirty Dancing, Billy Elliott).
Josh is a judge on Channel 7’s Dancing With The Stars and although he now lives in Los Angeles working as a freelance choreographer and TV host most of the time, he is about to re-embark on the Australian revival tour of A Chorus Line in the role of Zach.
We catch up with the (very funny) Horner to ask him our 20 Questions…
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Exactly what Im doing now… A Dancer. #living
Who is the most important person in the world to you?
My family and my reflection… lol

Fainting Goat (youtube it) when they get excited they fall over…
If you were a contestant on Deal or No Deal, how much would you need to be on offer before you walked away?
Hmmm… us dancers are easy… 10 or 20 grand
What was the first piece of theatre/film/TV you ever appeared in and how old were you?
Romper Room first tele gig… I was like 5 or 6. Very Funny. Theatre – Gosford Musical Society in Showboat… they painted me black… so wrong nowdays!

Im in it… LOL Sometimes tall poppy syndrome creeps in and when they use tacky reality TV personalities in the lead roles just to get bums on seats rather than solid fresh unheard of awesome talent…
Name one moment when you looked around, breathed happily and felt content.
I treasure every moment ! I have too many to mention…

Judging a dance competition in Gaitlanburg near the Smokey Mountains…

Most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you onstage?
My first show going on as ‘Johnny Castle’ in Dirty Dancing. I just had a confrontation with Baby’s father then had to walk off stage (as the revolving stage was turning) In a big acting moment I had my hand to my head as if i was in a state of dilemma and the revolve had spat me off on an angle to which I walked into the proscenium arch…BOOF! Cue audience “oooooo” I then had to do a sex scene at the end of act 1 with a headache and felt like a right dickhead.

Running a very successful business, choreographing musicals, owning a home, probably still desperate and lonely, making blueprints for my own theme park and always smiling!
