What is schmoozing? My trusty urban dictionary defines it as…

Making ingratiating small talk – talk that is business oriented, designed to both provide and solicit personal information but avoids overt pitching. Most often an artifact of “networking.” It is more art than science but can be learned.

But how do we do it in a way that doesn’t make us either, a) a stalker or b) an awkward see creature that just timidly stands there waiting for any chance to laugh loudly and inappropriately at someone else’s joke. Why suddenly when it comes to “networking” we turn into these quirky characters?

As part of Sophie’s video series, she discusses the Art of Schmoozing.

Sophie writes a wellness blog for performers and creative types and also contributes to AussieTheatre.

Her AussieTheatre blog is titled Sophie Wright’s Wicked Wellness and her personal website name recently chanced to Create a Wellness. Find it at createawellness.com or visit her official Facebook page.

She has also written a FREE e-BOOK on how to survive in the arts by using mindfulness and positivity that can be downloaded on her website!
