Glitz, glamour, feathers, and jewels, Jupiter’s Casino has it all.
Jupiters Hotel & Casino’s latest showroom production Cabaret De Paris brings back the glitz and glamour of the showgirl with a Parisian-themed revue that includes first-class entertainers and gorgeous be-jewelled burlesque dancers. The costumes designed by Cathie Boyd are a spectacular feature of the show. There are more than a quarter of a million dollars in jewels, rhinestones, sequins, feathers and of course a little bit of material to hold all that sparkle together.
Cabaret De Paris features former Moulin Rouge star Marissa Burgess. Marissa is a legendary showgirl having starred in three multi-million dollar revues and has earned the title of ‘Longest Serving Star’ in the Moulin Rouge’s 120-year history. Marissa was all class and razzle-dazzle as she entertained the audience with classic French songs such as “Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien”.
The show includes other stunning dancers from top Paris cabaret venues, including the Moulin Rouge and The Lido. They delighted the audience with their high kicks, showgirl choreography (Todd Patrick). The undoubted hightlight of the evening was, needless to say, the Can Can; what would a Parisian revue ve without this iconic dance.
Adding light comedy to the program was comic acrobatic cyclist Justin Case, who peppered the evening with physical comedy as he attempted to ride a bike in various configurations. He was both impressive and hilarious.
Also from Moulin Rouge and Lido De Paris were Principal Adage Team Mysteriaque, whose beautiful adagio act was mesmerising.
With so much to attract the eye the show didn’t need a spectacular set, simply using Michael Buenen’s stunning lighting design to complement the talent and sparkle.
Cabaret De Paris was a truly magnificent evening’s entertainment which brought a world-class show from Paris to the Queensland Gold Coast.
