Sydney Dance Company is excited this week to announce a competition for enthusiastic males to perform a fun cameo role in their production of Fanatic by Larissa McGowan.
A hit from the Spring Dance 2012 Contemporary Women program, Fanatic is a tongue-in-cheek and exceptionally high-energy look at sci-fi fan culture. It’s set in the loungeroom of a disillusioned movie fan who is using YouTube to vent his feelings on the Alien vs Predator franchise. (We’ve all been there).
The work features a trio of Sydney Dance Company members performing to a soundscape of movie-bytes from sci-fi blockbusters – plus the cameo role, which is performed from within the theatre auditorium.
To score the cameo, all you need to do is create a 30-second video clip with your camera or mobile device which shows off your skills as “the perfect Alien or Predator” – or acting out your favourite scene from the franchise. No dance experience or skill is required.
