Want to hear our War Horse 'neigh'? Take a sneak peek at the Aussie War Horse company

The Australian premiere production of War Horse is one of the most anticipated theatrical events in the 2013 arts calendar and the Aussie company are nearly ready to begin a month of intensive dress rehearsals in Melbourne.
But this week in Sydney, AussieTheatre's Ben Neutze caught a sneak peek of War Horse rehearsals at ABC studios in Ultimo – capturing footage and interviews with our all Aussie cast.
In this video, we
hear puppeteers from the Australian company speak about working as Joey, the horse, and see some exciting footage of the cast in action.
War Horse is set to open at Arts Centre Melbourne on December 31 this year and will play until 10 February before touring to Sydney's Lyric Theatre (16 March – 30 June) and Brisbane's Lyric Theatre QPAC (6 July – 4 August).
Nick Stafford’s stage adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s book is a magnificent drama which tells the heart wrenching story of Joey, the beloved horse of a boy called Albert, who is sold to the cavalry at the outbreak of World War I and shipped to France.
Life size horses from South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company traverse the stage, their flanks, hides and sinews built of steel, leather and aircraft cables. Actors, working with these dynamic puppets, will lead Australian audiences on an emotionally-charged journey through history.
