Featuring songs by Maltby and Shire, two of the finest musical exponents of Broadway and Hollywood, Starting Here, Starting Now is an intimate musical revue that takes a humorous and poignant look at the ups-and-downs of modern relationships.
Starting Here, Starting Now was first performed at The Manhattan Theatre Club in 1976. Its timeless themes of falling in-and-out of love make it a popular and regularly performed piece worldwide to this day.
Maltby and Shire’s subsequent collaborations include the musicals Baby, Closer Than Ever and Take Flight.
The revue features an all-star cast including Anita Louise Combe, Martin Crewes, Simon Gleeson and Christie Whelan.
Between them, Maltby and Shire have received numerous Academy, Grammy and Tony Awards and nominations for their work across both film and theatrical genres and continue to work together to this day.
Starting Here, Starting Now follows Manilla Street Productions’ critical success with the premiere of Another Opening, Another Show in Melbourne Earlier this year.
