Tony Award-Winning musical ONCE debuts in QLD exclusive at HOTA

The highly anticipated season showcase of ONCE is exclusive to HOTA during the Queensland leg of a national tour, with performances across 5-nights, from Saturday 17 to Thursday 22 June.

ONCE is an enchanting tale about a Dublin street musician on the verge of giving up, when a charming Czech piano-player takes a sudden interest in his music. It is a tender love story about reaching for your dreams and the power of music to connect us all.

Mik Auckland, Interim Chief Executive Officer:

This achingly beautiful hit musical showcases a heart-warming and powerful story about love and music.

We can’t wait for Queenslanders to experience the magic of this beloved production as it makes its way here this June for an exclusive season at HOTA.

Audiences will be swept away by ONCE, which has been praised for its captivating music, emotional depth and authenticity.

Based on the movie of the same name by John Carney, ONCE was adapted by Enda Walsh with music and lyrics by Glen Hansard & Markéta Irglová – the only Broadway show that has won an Academy Award®, Grammy Award®, Olivier Award and Tony Award® (including Best Musical).

New York Daily News:

Original and unforgettable, Once draws you in from the very first note, grabs you by the heart strings and never lets go.

With songs from the critically acclaimed film, including the Oscar-winning song ‘Falling Slowly’, this spellbinding musical will have you holding your breath from beginning to end.

Tickets start from $60 and are on sale now.
