The Jinglists: Jingle all the way to Bondi

Comedy duo Allsop & Henderson are bringing their acclaimed new musical The Jinglists, a story about love, loss, and jingles, to Sydney’s Bondi Pavilion Theatre from January 31.
Directed by Jo Turner (Fools Island, Darlingwood Tales), the darkly funny musical is about Leigh and Loman, a team of jingle-writing geniuses who suffer from agoraphobia and have not left their apartment in 30 years. They find comfort and meaning in their work in a safe space far away from reality, crafting a series of brain-searing melodies for products they know barely anything about. Their lives, however, are thrown into turmoil when they catch sight of the girl of their dreams through the mail-hole. Can these two lovable misfits find love of their own? Or will they pummel each other right into madness?

Warwick Allsopp (The Dead Man Brake, Titanic – The Musical) and Tamlyn Henderson (Cabaret, We Will Rock You), who previously collaborated on Porthole into the Minds of the Vanquished, premiered The Jinglists at the 2008 Melbourne Comedy Festival. In 2010 it played at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the Underbelly in the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe Festival before featuring at the Soho Theatre on London’s West End.
