The Feather In The Web hits Red Stitch for Midsumma Festival

From cult comic sensation Nick Coyle’s (The Queen of Wolves, ABC’s Sarah’s Channel) The Feather in The Web is a lacerating satire of mainstream culture – revelling in all the magnificent, awful parts of ourselves we’ve learned to squish right down.
Kimberly lives a modest life. When she’s not steering cars into oncoming traffic, she mostly enjoys the quieter things – like public masturbation and emotional terrorism. Adrift in a bland, grey world of after-work office-drinks, team-building exercises, and never- ending Netflix recommendations, Kimberly wants nothing more than to watch it all burn.
Until disaster strikes. She falls in love. And encounters a force as terrifying as herself.
“I think, I’m like a spider, because, I have pre-programmed abilities but generally, I’m not very creative. And once I’ve made my web I have to wait there. Forever. Even if it’s in the wrong place. Even if I’m starving to death. And then one day I feel: something struggling, something caught: A fly. It’s you. But it’s not a fly. It’s a feather. It’s you.”
This unpredictable take on infatuation and self-discovery will be directed by Declan Greene (Wake In Fright, Blackie Blackie Brown) and will feature Michelle Brasier, George Lingard, Belinda McClory, Emily Milledge and Patrick Durnan Silva.
“Wickedly funny… An unlikely celebration of those who exist outside the box.” – Time Out
