Open Day at Sydney Dance Company is an opportunity to experience free taster Dance Classes of your choice at the Wharf Studios with some of the dance industry’s best dance teachers, free Pilates postural assessments, tours of our Pilates & Conditioning Studio and a free Pre-Professional Year Workshop & Q&A with Pre-Professional Year Head of Training, Linda Gamblin. There will also be discounts and giveaways on the day, including a competition with LG SIGNATURE offering the chance to win prizes worth over $7,000.

In addition to free dance classes, Conditioning Studio Manager, Felicity McGee is offering free postural assessments in our state-of-the-art Conditioning Studio. As a trained Pilates instructor and former professional ballerina, Felicity works directly with Sydney Dance Company’s professional ensemble and Pre-Professional Year dancers.
For young aspiring dancers interested in learning more about training opportunities, our Pre Professional Year Workshop and Q&A session with Linda Gamblin, Sydney Dance Company’s Head of Training, will provide information on Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year, a fulltime program which provides unparalleled industry experience and a vocational qualification.
Participants will take an improvisation class with our Pre-Professional Year Course Coordinator and choreographer Omer Backley-Astrachan, to delve deeper into their contemporary practice.
Afterwards, join Omer and Linda, and Sydney Dance Company Training Associate Juliette Barton, for an in-depth Q&A session where participants will learn about the program and ask questions.
