Sydney Comedy Festival Announces Even More Comedians For 2025

The Sydney Comedy Festival is thrilled to announce the next round of homegrown and international talent joining its 20th anniversary line-up as it gears up to spread laughter across the city from 21st April to 18th May.

Sydney Comedy Festival Director Jorge Menidis:

So far, we’ve got more than 270 acts in this year’s Festival, and we’ve got more to come. This year is going to be bigger, and reach more of Sydney than ever before.

Adding to the bevy of local icons hitting Sydney’s stages in 2025 is:

  • The award-winning sketch comedy duo Hot Department
  • Award-winning First Nations comedians Leon Filewood and Dane Simpson
  • Melbourne-born actor, TV writer and comedian Greg Larsen

Global superstars returning to the Festival in 2025 include:

  • One of the UK’s fastest rising comics, Ricky Gervais and Friend’s Red Richardson
  • Regular of LA’s Hollywood Improv club, Taiwanese-American funny man Jason Cheny
  • Hong Kong-bred bilingual comic Vivek Mahbubani performs 100% in Cantonese

Audiences can also expect the return of the much-loved End of Fest Gala on Sunday 18th May at the
Enmore Theatre, where the hottest acts will close out 2025 with a bang.
