“Divorced, beheaded, died. Divorced, beheaded, survived.”
Six follows the lives of Henry VIII’s wives. Presented as a pop concert, the show has already gained a massive following since its 2017 premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe. The show is currently running in the UK and has only just opened their Broadway run.
With book, music, and lyrics by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the show will be presented by Sydney Opera House in association with Louise Withers, Michael Coppel and Linda Bewick.
The concert-esque musical is definitely different to what Aussie theatregoers are used to seeing, but it fits the trend of Broadway/West End shows heading down under, following previously announced productions of Hamilton, Waitress, and Moulin Rouge.
Six will run in Sydney from January 4 – March 5, 2020. Tickets and more information are available at the Sydney Opera House website.
