Rocky Horror will play Sydney, 2015

Craig McLachlan will return to the role of Frank N Furter in Rocky Horror for a limited season in Sydney in 2015.

Despite only being scheduled to play Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne, the recent Australian revival of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show is now confirmed to play a short season at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre from April 2015 –  nine months after its closing season at the Comedy Theatre.

Produced by John Frost and Howard Panter, The Rocky Horror Show has been nominated for Best Musical and Best Male Actor in a Musical (Craig McLachlan) at the 2014 Helpmann Awards, and received critical and popular acclaim during its four sell-out seasons this year.

“We are thrilled to be able to share this sexy new production of The Rocky Horror Show with Sydney audiences,” said co-producer John Frost.

“Fans in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne were so enthusiastic and just about every performance was sold out. Audiences obviously can’t wait to do the Time Warp again with Craig McLachlan, and now that we’ve been able to confirm theatre availability, Sydney theatregoers can give themselves over to absolute pleasure before madness takes its toll.”

Rocky Horror will follow Dirty Dancing into the Lyric Theatre and will bump out ahead of Matilda’s arrival in August 2015.

No further cast have been confirmed at this stage, and it is understood that some of the original cast will have moved on to different projects. Supporting cast to be announced later this year.
