Nicholas Afoa, who stole hearts as Simba in the recent Australian tour of The Lion King, has just taken over the role of lion who just can’t wait to be King on London’s West End!

The Lion King has been running on the West End in London’s Lyceum Theatre since 1999. It is currently the sixth longest-running musical in West End history.

New Zealand-born Nick was a star player of the All Blacks, helping his team to win the Rugby World Cup in a bout against England in 2004. After an imjury cut short his footy career, Nick found another: musical theatre.
