Michael Falzon, Rachael Beck, Erica Lovell and Jay James-Moody make history tonight as they perform the Australian Premiere of Ordinary Days by American music theatre composer, Adam Gwon.
After beginning previews on January 19 at the Darlinghurst Theatre in Potts Point, this intimate work has its gala opening tonight. Michael Falzon, fresh off the back of blockbuster musical Rock Of Ages says he is enjoying working on such a boutique production.
“It’s a marvellous (and very different) feeling being in such an intimate production. Working with a small company and cast, I am more involved, both professionally and personally. Playing in a gorgeous, little space like the Darlo seems much more real and that helps get the complex emotions across in something like Ordinary Days”, he said.
The production is a joint venture of the critically acclaimed independent musical theatre company Squabbalogic (A New Brain, [title of show]) and the Darlinghurst Theatre Company. With an incredible cast including Rachael Beck (Beauty and the Beast, Summer Rain), Michael Falzon (War of the Worlds, Rock of Ages), Jay James-Moody (A New Brain, Jerry Springer the Opera) and Erica Lovell (STC’s Spring Awakening, Opera Australia’s A Little Night Music), this month-long production is certainly one not to miss.

Ordinary Days has been open 2 days, and I have already seen it twice. It really is a fantastic production, and how often do you get a chance to see performers of this calibre, in such an intimate environment
