Popular Blue Mountains based actor and writer, Shane Porteous, makes a welcome return to the Q Theatre stage in Penrith from April 7–10, when he stars in the hilarious Australian comedy Codgers.
This unmissable smash hit show, performed by some of our best loved actors is written by Don Reid, directed by Wayne Harrison and features: Ronald Falk, Ron Haddrick, Edwin Hodgeman, Jon Lam, Russell Newman and Shane Porteous.
Eavesdrop on six senior Aussie men, some of them mates since war service, as they sweat it out together each week in a gym and are taken on inter-connected journeys that are challenging, touching and very funny. But secrets, differences and loss of trust threaten to destroy the long established friendships. Amidst the back strain and biceps, the jokes and whispers, they learn that ‘difference’ is more a matter of point of view; that ‘you wouldn’t be dead for quids’ and, no matter what, that you gotta laugh!
Winner of the prestigious Rodney Seaborn Playwright’s Award 2006, the critics were unanimous in their praise of this great Australian comedy.
