New panelist added: Trevor Ashley and Slide gear up to Talk Arts – tonight!

Slide, arguably the Sydney home of cabaret, is currently hosting its annual Cabaret Festival, and this year, it features a brand new series called TALK. It’s no longer just dinner and a show at Slide – now it’s dinner and a panel.

Trevor Ashley

Called TALK: Arts, this panel is going to discuss what it’s like in the Australian arts market for creatives at the moment. At the launch event for the cabaret festival on Friday (Joey Arias’ wonderful performance) Slide Artistic Director Catherine Alcorn said this panel would really get to the heart of how to bring work to the stage in the current world of Australian creatives.

The panel features director/producer Neil Gooding (fresh from producing Alan Cummings’ Macbeth on Broadway), Australian cabaret darling Paul Capsis (direct from the Adelaide Cabaret Festival), Lisa Campbell (former Adelaide Cabaret Festival), and arts writer Steve Dow (Sydney Morning Herald). Today, Slide announced that the panel would include hot favourite Trevor Ashley, who just made a splash with his West End debut.

This vibrant discussion is free (unless you want dinner!) and you can find more information at slide.com.au. Doors open at 7pm.
