At the end of her life, Carmen takes us on a reflective journey of discovery – an orphan, a refugee, a hermaphrodite, a human.
Carmen, Live or Dead celebrates difference, embracing the feminine and the masculine with joy and life. A story brimming with unyielding authenticity, humour and grace, Carmen, Live or Dead is a unique and gripping theatrical experience that is moving, entertaining and thoroughly liberating.
Conceived by Craig Harwood and Natalie Gamsu and with original music by ARIA Nominated and Helpmann Award Winning Actor and Musician iOTA and Multi Award winning Australian Composer and Musical Director Max Lambert.
The production is directed by Shaun Rennie (Rent, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, I Am My Own Wife), musically directed by Andrew Kroenert (27 Club) and Natalie will be joined on stage by Stefanie Jones (Sound of Music, South Pacific, Once).
The production is produced by Helpmann Award-winning actress Elise McCann (currently playing Miss Honey in Matilda the Musical) and presented by Oriel Entertainment Group who also produced the critically acclaimed production of I Am My Own Wife at this years Midsumma Festival.
